Russia's war in Ukraine is to everyone's sorrow escalating for each passing day. In response to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, Western countries are issuing sanctions of a degree the world has never seen before.

Following the situation, an increasing number of international companies (including familiar names like McDonald's and Starbucks) has halted their tradings in Russia.

Norwegian Business Association China together with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China will invite Wikborg Rein law firm, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Legal Department and Business Sweden to help you decipher the Norwegian, EU, UK and US sanctions and their implications on business, as well as your ability to comply with them alongside with China's anti-sanctions law. We will also discuss the current situation on export control and hidden risks concerning the US Entity List.

Understanding the ongoing situation and its global effect on business will be key to navigate multinational businesses in the foreseeable future.

Topics will include:

  • Introduction to the sanctions issued by Norway, EU, the US and the UK
  • What are Russia's counter measures?
  • What will the short and long term effects on business be?
