This webinar is a part of the Greener Together: China-Nordic Dialogue on Carbon Neutrality campaign co-organised by Norwegian Business Association China, Danish Chamber of Commerce and FinnCham, with support from the Danish Chinese Business Forum in Denmark.
In the launch session for the "Greener Together: China-Nordic Dialogue on Carbon Neutrality" webinar series, our speakers will introduce China's low carbon goals and the impact this may have on your business in China.
- Kaare Sandholt, Chief Expert (International), China Energy Transition Programme at the Energy Research Institute of Academy of Macroeconomic Research, will introduce the current climate and energy policies in China along with an expected timeline of when different measures will be implemented.
- Mika Klemettinen, Trade and Innovation Consul at the Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai, will share how European policies on carbon emissions and related actions shape and influence Headquarter strategies.
- Anders Lennartsson, Sustainability Director at IKEA China, will share how IKEA has implemented IKEA's green ambitions, their China strategy and the challenges they have faced along the way.
About GreenerTogether:
Over the recent years, reducing carbon emissions has become the main sustainability issue (both for governments and for companies), globally and in China.
China has set ambitious targets with peak carbon emissions in 2030 and carbon neutrality in 2060
These targets will have large impact on companies, some of these impacts may be:
- New regulations, such as carbon pricing & demands for energy efficiency in new builds.
- Shifting customer demands that focus on global commitments to emission reduction.

Dr. Mika Klemettinen is Trade and Innovation Consul at the Consulate General of Finland in Shanghai and he is heading the Business Finland Trade Center in Shanghai. He is responsible for the Finland-China innovation cooperation, leads the innovation team at Business Finland China, and is the Chairman of the Science and Technology Diplomatic Circle Shanghai. Dr. Klemettinen holds a PhD in AI and telecommunications, and has more than 25 years of academic and industrial experience in digital technologies, digitalization and digital transformation.
In his previous role, Dr. Klemettinen was a Digitalization Director in Business Finland and participated, e.g., in leading the Finnish government's AI Strategy work and the creation of the new Information Policy approved by the Parliament of Finland.

Mr. Anders Lennartsson has over 30 years of experience in sustainable development. Since 1989, he has made sustainable development the main line of his work. He also has extensive work experience at IKEA, having worked in IKEA stores in Sweden, Group Sustainability Department, IKEA Global Food Department and IKEA Norway.

Kaare Sandholdt is Chief International Expert on China's Energy Transition Programme with the Energy Research Institute of Academy of Macroeconomic Research. He has comprehensive experience with organizational development, start-up of new organizations and human resource management, specializing in renewable energy technologies, energy model development, restructuring and development of organizations, electricity market development, and integration of renewable energy into the energy system.
