The lockdown of Shanghai has been placed for over three weeks, bringing fundamental changes to the daily life of Shanghai residents. Many are experiencing shortage of food and necessity supplies, and all normal business operations are disrupted as well. A large part of our members is based in Shanghai, and other members also have important business relations with the city.
We are deeply concerned about the situation of the Norwegian business community, given it is a hard time for many of our members, both mentally and physically. During this challenging time, NBA would like to support in all ways possible within our capacity to provide support to our members. For this purpose, NBA has established a Shanghai Lockdown working group to better serve the members.
To address the needs of the members as well as sharing some experiences from relevant crisis management approaches, we have scheduled an Opening Meeting on Monday, 25th April, 13:00 PM – 14:30 PM.
This meeting is divided into 2 parts:
Part 1: Information sharing session including valuable experiences from our member companies overcoming different challenges.
Part 2: After the sharing session, the members are encouraged to speak out the needs and challenges. NBA will establish dedicated Wechat group with different theme to better target and categorize the demands from the members. Members can reach out for assistance anytime in the Wechat group and NBA will strive to do our utmost to help.
The agenda of the meeting:
13:00 PM – 13:05 PM Introduction - Thomas Huang (Moderator)– Director of New Business Strategy, Yara
13:05 PM – 13:15 PM Supply Chain challenges and responses – Mark Chapman, Operations Director Administration, Jotun

The working group is also planning to launch a series of talks to help the members through the lockdown situation. The first will be held later next week as a "lockdown-relieve session" to forget about the situation and deep dive into fun and interesting aspects of cross-cultural working.
The topic of the talks will be based on the needs and interests from the members, therefore the Board of Directors welcome suggestions from the members on topics they would like the NBA China to address. We strongly encourage all the members to join the Webinar, also members that are currently not in Shanghai may also join to get better prepared for the situation.
